Tinieka Page is a painter based in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia. With an understanding of our current contemporary moment as a time which is characterised by a collectively experienced state of uncertainty, her painting practice investigates the connections between intuition-led making in the medium of painting and the state of uncertainty this can induce as a way to make sense of our contemporary condition. Paralleling this uncertainty and the changeableness that defines our times, Page’s practice looks to the process of painting without predetermined outcomes as a way of establishing an inquiry into methods of responsiveness to this ongoing change.
